We bought our stock plant from Cistus Nursery near Portland, Oregon in 2010. It was labeled as growing to about 10', although we suspect it grows much bigger! Cistis Nursery reports that this is a strikingly architectural vine with finely dissected leaves. In mid to late summer, six-petaled, waxy yellow flowers appear as look as if they were cut from orange rind. They're followed by large fluffy white seed heads.
This is an easy-grower in dappled shade to full sun on the coast. Inland, it's probably better with just morning sun or light shade. It's drought tolerant once established.
Frost hardy to between 0°-6°F.
